The pictures above & below are ideal, but they do not represent the condition of most coins their age. At a glance - above & then below, you can clearly see the front of the coin, which is the face of Abraham Lincoln our 16th President - now see the bottom, the (obverse) which makes is clear why these coins were dubbed: wheat-backs.

I provide a vehicle for average coin collectors, who's compulsion for a rare coin, maneuvers them squarely into the hands of an honest dealer. I do all the foot work - you have the luxury & convenience of not having to sort through thousands of advs. to find the coin of your choice.

Most dealers will Inspect & grade every single coin, (other than proofs), differently; however, I am a liberal grader & I intend to grade the coins at face value; so I will not nit-pick the coin beyond the standard grade, thus a coin which is Graded as Good, will sell as a "Good-Graded-Coin".

The 1909-VDB minted in Philadelphia (P) can sell for as little as $7.00US - but if it has an S mint-mark (San Francisco) it is much rarer, & sells for upwards of $650.00 if worn, to around $1,500.00 in nearly-new condition. There are examples of these same coins going for a much higher price at auction.

It may be that once the coin is in my possession, that I am not completely satisfied with the condition of the coin, & in consequence of that, I might chose to return that particular coin to the original seller, for a full refund or in trade for another coin, as the transaction dictates.

The 1909 VDBs were the first wheat-back pennies every minted in the USA. The wheat back penny was minted until 1958. The U.S. Mint halted the production of copper pennies in mid.-1982, whenever high demand for copper made it impossible to continue their production at a loss.

I do not keep a stock of the 1909-VDBs in a personal inventory.
